Hollywood’s most glamorous evening of the year is upon us. Come Sunday the biggest names in film will be sashaying down the Oscar red carpet in… we’re not sure, but that’s the fun part isn’t it? But with the bleak economy, will the glitz and glam be more restrained this year? WWD reports on how brands have had to cut back their Oscar presence. Dior Beauty’s spokeswoman comments, “Having a presence in L.A. during Oscar week remains important for our brand image, but just like with everything else, we need to adapt and adjust.” I predict that once it’s showtime, it’ll be business as usual: designer garbs, freshly-sprayed tans and pearly-white smiles. It’s still the Oscars after all.
