Pompoms and armpit laser hair removal go hand in hand when you really think about it.

CW Reporter Roni Proter took us inside Rejuve Med-Spa, “The Official Med Spa of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” to feature their $50 Spa Week treatments on the girls that keep the spirit high down south. For a cheerleader, aside from keeping the crowd rooting and the team pumped, beauty is top priority. Watch the video of Meagan Sharp and Nichole Hamilton filling up on treatments per their squad’s beauty regimen. Read the full story on CW 33 in Dallas.

And just for fun, here’s a list of facts you might have not known about the cheerleaders of American’s team.

  • Before the birth of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, the football team’s cheer squad was a male-female group called CowBelles & Beaux.
  • In 1969 the Beaux’s were replaced by an all female squad from the local high school in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
  • Meet the first roster of cheerleaders : Anna Marie, Carrie, Deanovoy, Dixie, Dolores, Rosy and Vonciel.
  • In January of 1979, the made-for-TV movie The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (1979) aired starring Jane Seymour.
  • More than 600 women a year vie for one of the 32 to 36 spots on the squad; returning members must audition as well.
  • If you think you got the moves, auditions start May 15th.
  • Tryouts include a dance performance, a talent presentation, a personal interview and a written exam on current events and of course, football facts.

In a bit of nostalgic squad news, the historic 40 year-old Dallas Cowboy Stadium was demolished just this past Tuesday. Over 20,000 people gathered (right before their Spa Week appointments) to watch one ton of dynamite tear apart the, 65,675 seat stadium that held so many memories. Read the story here.
