Earlier tonight, Rolando Santana presented his Spring 2011 collection at Griffin in the trendy meatpacking district of New York. The designer’s second fashion show showcased a delicately-draped collection with chunky hardware neck pieces with deep-colored stones and unexpected accents like caribbeaners—frilly with a touch of old-time grit. With neutral smoky makeup on the models and classy venue decor that would be perfect for any high-end spa, we had one particular question in mind to investigate:
How do the models get such flawless skin? Is it always so perfect? These 3 beauties broke it down into 4 steps. Be it a runway show, a wedding or a big meeting, listen up because these strategies really work.

1. Avoid makeup for at least a week

Be inspired by The Beauty Bean’s Makeup-free Monday movement. One day… 10 days… you can do it!

2. Live in a steam room

If you have other places you need to be, try frequent steaming sessions over the sink. Wash your face then run the hot water and drape a towel over your head and the sides of the sink.

3. Get a facial

You should always get a facial about 3-5 days before your big event, to leave a buffer time in case you break out from extractions, which is common. Need a good facialist? You know where to find one.

4. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Try Creamide by Elizabeth Arden, or for a cheaper option, try Neutrogena Oil-Free Daily Moisturizer
