Boutique-Chic: Face to Face NYC

Happy Autumn! Inspired by the changing season, colors and crispness of the leaves we think it is prime time to switch up your beauty routine. Autumn calls for more moisturizing, deep cleansing, and frequent facials to maintain great skin.

Our fall beauty regimen kickoff commenced with Live Spa TV at Face to Face NYC. I sampled two festively-fall treatments: a Clove and Eucalyptus infused Foliage Facial with Pumpkin Mask and Fig and Sage Infused Autumn Scrub, each $50 for 50 minutes during Spa Week, October 11-17. Happy Autumn, now watch the treatments live in action, and read my reviews:

This spa is SO New York.

You walk in and feel immediately at home in an airy white loft with shabby chic rugs and retro decor. It’s an intimate boutique spa, and as the spa owner Enrique Ramirez, who specializes in mens skincare, explained: its the kind of spa where “everybody knows your name.” They sure knew mine, I immediately felt like part of the fam.

I first sampled the Foliage Facial with Enrique, and you’d think we were at a dessert buffet on Thanksgiving based on the my reactions to the scents of all the ingredients. My favorite was the oat mask – he used a gauze to cover my face before applying, which allowed him to cover my lips as well, something most facial masks do not cover. Face to Face doesn’t steam the skin; Enrique explained that many clients don’t like the feel of it, so he uses plastic and hot towels to do the same trick. I liked it very much. A skin analysis, a few extractions and a bunch of lotions later, my skin was rosy, soft and aglow. Please disregard the chronology of this entire description; you can watch the full thing right here:

Now, take the 3 minute tour of the cozy-chic boutique spa, and formally meet the owner Enrique Ramirez, who specializes in skincare for men, but works with many women as well. He opened Face to Face NYC about 5 years ago and they have a very loyal following. The man in the reception area a has been coming to Enrique “forever” – I asked if he minded being in the video, and he said of course not, and that he was excited to do anything he can to help promote the spa!

And now, the Autumn Scrub. Don’t let the name fool you—for all my massage-lovers out there, this is absolutely the best of both worlds. My massage therapist Sal integrated a fantastic full body massage into my exfoliating fig-infused scrub. The attention to the back of my kneecaps was my favorite part. You’ll see what I mean:

Then, as most people do during their spa treatments, we lost internet. The part you missed was me hopping in a warm rain shower, then getting an amazing massage with lavender and eucalyptus-infused massage oils. It also reminded me mildly of Thanksgiving. Oh, I’m so glad Fall is finally here!

I highly recommend Face to Face NYC for your Facial and Scrub/Massage desires during New York Spa Week. All that for $100! Make yourself at home.

I only had a sip of wine, but it added to the elegance of the experience
