Yesterday I (Candace) attended the Mara Hoffman Fall 2011 presentation at Lincoln Center but before I get into the apparent trends and fancy clothes, may I interject? While standing in line with the rest of the media hoping to get in (Mara turned out to be a mildly chaotic), guess who stepped up from behind the scenes to calm the situation? Kelly Cutrone. If you remember on her short lived Bravo reality show, the People’s Rev PR Director stated she’s always behind the scenes praying the show goes smoothly. Well, I prayed that we would at least make eye contact (If You Have to Cry Go Outside is one of my bibles), but I happily settled for the mini heart tremors she sent through me as she made her way through the crowd. And what do you know, in less than 5 minutes we were in. On to the presentation.

Apparently trending on the beauty front now and a hopeful runner for Fall 2011 are three things: Turbans, Black Smokey Eyes, and naturally flushed skin. Oh and going against the grain, the model’s fingertips were dipped in black dye. Mara stayed true to her bohemian vibes delivering a collection of psychedelic prints, heavily detailed knits, and hoods made of silk.

One of the most eye-popping pieces were the long flowing dresses with drastic side cut-outs, suggesting one might need months of ab work and a smoothing body polish spa treatment to get the glow required to don one of these frocks.
