It’s September, and National Yoga Month is finally here! We hope you’ve been practicing your downward-facing dogs and sun salutations, because there are tons of fun (free!) events for you to partake in.

Over 2,200 yoga studios nationwide will be participating in National Yoga Month by offering one free week of yoga classes! Click here to get the details.

And for those of you yogis (current and aspiring!) in NYC – we’ve found a few extra events going on that you’ll want to know about:

Lululemon’s Gospel of Sweat – Friday, Sept 7th 6-9 pm in Morningside Heights. The city’ most revered yoga instructors will be “preaching by teaching” (since yoga has become a religious experience for so many of us).

Wanderlust Yoga in the City Sunday, September 9th at 1:30pm and 4pm at Hudson River Park in NYC. As part of the Yoga Aid World Challenge, this event will raise one million dollars for yoga-embracing charities worldwide. Spa Week’s own yoga expert, Elena Brower, is one of the famed teachers who will be participating.

Exhale’s namasDAY – Thursday, September 20th, refer to Exhale’s website for participating locations and times to enjoy a free class. The second annual namasDAY will feature free yoga classes all day, a nighttime party with live music, goodie bags, and more!

There are so many awesome options for celebrating National Yoga Month in 2012! Let us know below what events are happening in your city! How do you plan to celebrate National Yoga Month?
