We love highlighting cool foreign beauty brands that you may not have heard of (check out our profile on Rouge Bunny Rouge). Today’s pick, Sulwhasoo, hails from Korea, and you’ll find it sold at some of the highest-end (and most discerning) retailers (think Bergdorf‘s and Neiman Marcus). They’re known for their powder shine compacts (see one above) with skin brightening ingredients and incredibly ornate packaging — and they change up the limited-edition designs year-round.

Aside from the powder compacts, which make incredible gifts, the skincare products are stellar — and you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on them. For novices to the brand, the Peel-Off Clarifying Mask, $39, is a good place to start. The Cleansing Oil, $36, is another pick you can’t go wrong with. It gently strips away surface impurities and makeup without stripping skin — and that’s why so many people become loyal to cleaning oils over creams, gels, and foams.
