Achieve the perfect, long-lasting red lip with OCC’s Lip Tar in NSFW.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic’s Lip Tar is a staple in the beauty industry. The products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, come in a cute package and have always caught my eye while I waited on Sephora’s checkout line. Yet until two weeks ago, I had never tried the product myself.

Until recently, I envisioned red lips as something seen only  in the movies and in the glossy pages of Vogue. When I finally got the courage to try on this daring shade, I fell in love!

Lip Tar comes in a little zipped package with a tiny brush and cardboard instruction card. The card directs you to place the tiniest bead of Lip Tar on the brush for application. Don’t take this warning lightly. A little bit goes a very long way and you’ll easily be able to paint your lips in full with that tiny drop. The texture is unexpectedly thin and smooth, with a satin finish. I was able to sip cocktails for an evening without worrying about the bold lip color starting to look splotchy.

Lip Tar lives up to its permanent sounding name in a good way. Yes, you can remove the product when desired. However, it won’t go down without a fight. I used a small amount of makeup remover to bring my lips back to their natural shade.

Our final verdict? This product is well worth the $18 price tag.  There are almost 50 shades to choose from and mixing is encouraged! You can purchase it on Obsessive Compulsive’s site.
