Think again before overspending at the brow bar; polished, natural looking brows are within reach with this at-home use product. Ladies, put the tweezers DOWN! I’m the first person to admit that I’d list grooming as a favorite pastime, but your eyebrows are the one feature on your face that you actually shouldn’t be fussing with. Brows can make or break a face, and it’s taken me 10 years to learn exactly which kind of shape and thickness I should maintain to properly compliment my features. I have naturally dark hair but my brows take on a somewhat lighter shade and are thin, not coarse, so it’s easy for hairs to stray out of place. Throughout high school and college I always preferred a very thin shape and found myself plucking every out-of-place hair up to two times a week. Looking back, I literally cringe at the thought of it. Thankfully, recent years have exploded with professional salons and tools devoted strictly to eyebrow care. From celebrity-graced eyebrow bars where you can spend a pretty penny for the perfect tint and shape to all types of brushes, markers and pencils, there’s a number of ways to achieve thick, even brows to your liking. When I finally decided to start the growing-out process, the first thing I needed to do was figure out exactly what kind of shape I was going for and fill in spaces and gaps accordingly. I started out with a pencil but soon found myself desiring a less defined, more natural looking result. My friend introduced me to a department store brand marker a few years ago and it’s been my best friend ever since, until now. Low and behold: Natural Brow Duo by Pixi ($18). One end features a waterproof pencil with angled tip. The texture actually feels more like a crayon which is perfect for achieving a flawless, natural look, and the angle makes all the difference. As with pencils and markers, you need to work around a pointed tip which makes application more challenging. The other end contains a tinted soft-hold gel for keeping your lovely new brows in place, so there’s no fussing and fretting over stray hairs. What’s even better? Besides its lovely ingredients of Vitamins C & E and Panthenol to strengthen hair, this lovely duo only comes in one shade to suit any brow color, from light to dark, so there’s no need to worry about which shade to choose. Simplicity at its best! Check out Pixi’s cute and quick tutorial here. Kelly Verdi is the Public Relations Manager at Spa Week Media Group.
