Long Island scenic vineyards are one spot not to miss this summer.

Laurel Lake

When looking to escape the hot, sticky city this summer, images of the Hampton Jitney transporting you in a floppy beach hat to soft sand and a cool breeze probably come to mind. What an out-of towner might not know, however is that not far from celeb-favorite spot the Hamptons you can find one of Eastern Long Island’s more hidden gems—the wineries.

With the option to either cool off in one of the pristinely decorated, air conditioned interiors or sip wine in the shade while taking in the view, the vineyards of Long Island provide the perfect scenic backdrop to any summer escape. There are tons to choose from, but to start, we’ll walk you through five of our favorites.

Laurel Lake

Enjoy a variety of flavors from within the tasting room at Laurel Lake, or sit outside while basking in the sun and staring lazily at rows and rows of wine-making grapes. This vineyard is ideal for relaxation in a tranquil environment while sampling delicious wines!

Osprey’s Dominion

Osprey’s Dominion has a huge interior, making it the perfect place to get out of the sun while still enjoying nature through the huge windows—and of course lots of wine at the long, inviting bar. This winery has a phenomenal selection sure to please every palette.

This beautiful location has a special mission—rescuing endangered horses. Part of the property acts as a safe haven to care for horses whose lives were at risk. So not only can you enjoy some delicious wines, but while at Baiting Hollow you can take a tour and visit some beautiful, loving animals!

Sparkling Pointe

Champagne lovers, this is the place for you! This picturesque locale specializes in sparkling wine—they even make versions of sparkling red wine. They also serve a unique selection of cheese and chocolate that pair nicely with your spirits. Sparkling Pointe is the perfect place for an elegant summer evening!

Vineyard 48

The perfect spot to host a summer birthday or bachelorette, this is definitely the rowdiest vineyard on the island. Sangria is sold in buckets; there is an outdoor DJ that caters to the younger set and all-day dancing. A must-stop on any wine tour!
