Daylight Savings Time hits us this Sunday, so we’re breaking down 4 tips to battle the impending exhaustion.

It’s that time of year again, Daylight Savings Time is back. At Spa Week we’re known for enjoying our beauty sleep, so anything that takes away a precious hour of snoozin’ isn’t exactly something we look forward to. But luckily for you, we FINALLY cracked the code to combating the dreaded “Spring Forward.”

1. Store up sleep in advance. Pay attention because this tip can be implemented TONIGHT! Start going to bed 15 minutes early 3-4 days prior to the big change-up. A quarter of an hour may not seem like a lot, but easing yourself into DST is the perfect way to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world.

2. Schedule a morning workout. We know, a Sunday morning is NOT the time you want to pry yourself from your cozy oasis to hop on an elliptical. But once you blast your workout jam and get your blood flowing you’ll be moving and grooving in no time.

3. Stop living in the present. You don’t need a time machine to practice this one. Prepare your mind and body for the transition a day early, and try to time everything the way it will be after the change. We’re huge fans of the Saturday afternoon nap, but add an hour to that 4pm slumber and you’ll realize you’re pushing it way too close to dinnertime.

4. Stay hydrated. Okay we get it, we constantly preach about our obsession with H20. But trust us, hydration is KEY to fighting fatigue and keeping you alert. Plus, the great skin and fantastic health benefits that come with are nothing to complain about.

If all else fails just remember that spring is coming and the days are getting longer! The thought of that alone might be enough to help you combat any Daylight Savings fatigue.
