In honor of essie’s new Spring 2015 flowerista collection, we’re showing you how to create the easiest DIY nail art ever.

The weather may seem to be warming up, but we’re still not convinced that spring is here to stay. After all, dirty snow continues to line New York City streets and fresh flowers are far from blooming. So when we discovered essie’s brand new spring nail polish collection, we perked right up.

The essie flowerista collection is exactly what you need to put a pep in your step as you transition into the spring, and you’ll find every reason to rock these colors all year round. Having drawn inspiration everywhere from Instagram to international runways, trust us when we say that this collection brings it’s botanical A-game in a very chic way. A creamy mint shade, the perfect nude tone and a popping plum polish are some of our favorites from the new essie collection, and after you browse the pretty palette, we guarantee you’ll love the entire lineup.

We were so obsessed with these fresh, fun colors that we decided to try our hand at a little nail art DIY. If you’re anything like us, you probably don’t have tiny dotting tools, special manicure ribbon tape or other unusual application utensils lying around, but none of that is necessary for this easy DIY. Below, we break it down for you in four simple steps.

What you need:

  • essie Petal Pushers polish from the flowerista collection
  • essie Perennial Chic polish from the flowerista collection
  • clear tape

What to do:

  1. Start by painting the entire nail with Perennial Chic and let the polish dry completely.
  2. Place a piece of tape on each nail diagonally from the tip of the left corner to the base of the right. Make sure to push down completely so tape covers nail evenly.
  3. Paint the exposed nail with Petal Pushers and allow the polish to fully dry.
  4. Remove the tape, and voila! Chic geometric nails for spring.

How can you get your color-craving unmanicured hands on this fabulous collection? As of March 1, it is available at essie.com, fine salons, and beauty destinations nationwide. And better yet, in honor of Spring 2015 Spa Week’s Exclusive Nail Care Sponsor, essie is giving you the chance to  enter to win $1000 worth of polish, including the entire flowerista set!
