Get ready for warmer weather with this vibrant and easy nail art DIY tutorial.

You know we love a good DIY here at Spa Week. And what better way than to celebrate the beginning of spring than with a bright set of nails? We’re already obsessed with the essie Flowerista collection, so it’s no surprise that we spent our Monday afternoon testing out all of the fabulous new color combinations at our disposal.

Since we’re making this magic in the office, we have to get a little creative with our nail art tools and tricks. But as they say, necessity is the mother of invention! True to the spirit of DIY, we’ve come to find that a single bobby pin is the perfect substitute for a manicurist’s dotting tool. So drop what you’re doing and grab your favorite polishes, because achieving perky polka-dot nails has never been easier.

What you need:

  • essie Flowerista polish from the flowerista collection
  • essie Blossom Dandy polish from the flowerista collection
  • essie Garden Variety polish from the flowerista collection
  • 1 bobby pin
  • 1 paper towel

What to do:

  1. Start by painting the entire nail with Flowerista and let the polish dry completely.
  2. Pour a small amount of each Blossom Dandy and Garden Variety onto a paper towel.
  3. Dot Blossom Dandy sporadically over the entire nail using the head of a bobby pin. When finished, wipe the tip of the bobby pin clean to ensure colors don’t mix.
  4. Fill in with more polka dots of Garden Variety.
  5. Finish off with your favorite top coat and you’re good to go!

Want to try it out yourself? You’re in luck!

In honor of Spring 2015 Spa Week, essie is giving away a major prize. Enter to win $1000 worth of polishes, including the entire Flowerista set!
