This #TransformationTuesday we’re excited to be partnering with Yummie by Heather Thomson! Together, we’re giving you a chance to win some amazing womenswear from the chic and versatile line for women on-the-go. Yummie by Heather Thomson was founded in 2008 because Heather wanted to create a line of shapewear that would make women feel confident rocking what they’ve got. Since its launch, Yummie has expanded well beyond shapewear to include high-performance activewear, denim, intimates, and more. We recently had the chance to put an assortment of the brand’s pieces to the test and we were mega impressed by the quality of the apparel and its super slimming capabilities. Since we’re all about sharing the love with our readers, we’re giving away a $100 Yummie gift card so one lucky winner can try out the Yummie apparel of their choice! And to get the lowdown on this awesome new brand, we sat down with Yummie founder herself to ask her about motherhood, fitness, and more! Here’s the first installment of our two-part interview with Heather Thomson. What inspired you to create Yummie by Heather Thomson? Like lots of new moms, I was faced with true weight loss issues and I took a trip to the shapewear department looking for a boost of confidence. And what I found changed everything for me. The garments were anything but confidence boosting – they were literally my grandmother’s girdles. My designer side kicked in, along with my inventor side, and my original Yummie Tummie patented 3-panel tank was created. And with it, a whole new way of looking at shapewear was born. What’s your favorite item from the Yummie brand? Ahhh! I can’t pick! Our new Yummie active collection — including our leggings, tanks, bras and jackets — is definitely really exciting stuff. Also, I love my new Yummie spring denim. The new finishes with our smart and innovative design approach make each pair super flattering for all shapes and sizes. And geez, the best for last…My Yummie by Heather Thomson bras! I swear they are the next woman’s movement! They are so soft, smoothing and comfortable They are an everyday essential for me. I often sleep in them too! Why did you take Yummie from shapers to activewear and now denim? From shape to intimates, leggings to denim, activewear to lounge, every new collection I create is done with today’s modern woman in mind — our needs. We’re always on-the-go, and we need clothes that can offer us versatility and can get us from point A to point B throughout our days seamlessly. Yummie by Heather Thomson is a collection of what I define as the essentials. They’re meant to be worn together, layered, mixed and matched each day. Defining these new collections allows me to build on my vision. They are part of my mission to help keep women looking and feeling their best! What do you want to do next with Yummie? I’m launching Yummie Loungewear! We’ll be launching this on Yummielife.com on October, 1 2015. I think people are really going to love the versatile layers and fit, beautiful cottons and great wraps. I’m thinking my Yummies out there are going to be feeling delicious in each piece! What’s your favorite way to indulge in “me time”? Getting a massage and acupuncture. What fitness tips do you have for busy moms? My goal is to do 30 minutes of some kind of physical activity a day. I recommend eating more vegetables and fruits, more whole foods, choosing whole grains over refined, processed and packaged foods, and drinking more water. And getting full, restful sleep – which is also a goal for me! That wraps up part one of our #TransformationTuesday Q&A with Heather Thomson.
