Love shrimp and shrimp salad, but hate complicated recipes? Have we got a treat for you. Deanna from The Pretty Girls’ Guide is here to share the best simple shrimp pasta salad recipe ever. Say hello to your new signature summer salad!

You’re about to see a photo of the best dang shrimp pasta salad ever. And no, I’m not just saying that because it’s my recipe. I’m saying it because it’s true!

Seriously. I started making this pasta salad a few years back and it’s become my signature dish. If you invite me to any function between spring and fall, don’t even question me — ’cause this is what I’m bringing. It’s actually gotten to the point where I get requests for it. *hair flip*

I haven’t posted a recipe online in a while and since summer is almost upon us, I thought this would be the perfect one to share. I mean, it screams summer! The pasta salad even looks like sunshine, super bright and packed with yummy veggies to leave you feelin’ good.

Shrimp pasta salad is perfect for cookouts, family gatherings, and healthy dinner side dishes, and it makes the perfect light lunch. But the best thing about shrimp salad is that it’s super easy and super quick to make!

The Best Simple Shrimp Pasta Salad Recipe Ever

The simple shrimp pasta salad recipe below makes enough for 4-5 servings, which is exactly enough for me. (Just kidding…or am I?) If you’re making this for a party, just multiply the ingredients as needed.

  • 1 Box of Tri Colored Pasta (Because it looks cute.)
  • 1 Bottle of Italian Salad Dressing (I use Zesty because it makes me feel fancy, but you can use Light or whatever you prefer.)
  • 1 lb of steamed shrimp (I get mine steamed at the market — with some Old Bay, because I’m from Maryland!)

Optional extra ingredients:

  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Pepper
  • 2 -3 Plum Tomatoes
  • 1 Cucumbers
  • 3-4  Celery stalks
  • Pepper to taste

1. Boil your pasta until tender, or just before. Drain and put into a large mixing bowl. DO NOT RINSE!

2. Immediately after transferring to the mixing bowl, put about 3 squirts of Italian salad dressing in with the pasta and mix. This prevents the pasta from sticking.

3. Cut up all your veggies. (To save time, do this while the pasta noodles are cooking up!) I like to dice mine into smaller pieces. I feel like it’s better than cutting them into strips, as peppers and onions can become bulky that way. With diced pieces, every scoop of salad can contain some super good veggies and you won’t be struggling to get them on your plate.

4. Cut each piece of shrimp into 2 or 3 pieces, depending on the size. You do this for two reasons. First, it spreads out the shrimp! Shrimp can be expensive, so you want to make sure to make that ish stretch — especially if you’re making it for other people! Second, it will help make those scoops easier and get everyone their fair share.

5. Mix all this yummy goodness together in the bowl, then top with some pepper to taste.

6. Add the rest of your Italian dressing! I use almost the whole dang bottle, but you can change that to your liking.

7. Cover and pop in the fridge. It tastes the best if you let it sit over night, because all the yummy goodness can really marinate. However if you’re in a pinch for time 2 hours will do.

And you’re done!

That’s it! A super simple shrimp pasta salad recipe, and the whole thing only takes you 15-20 minutes. *Does a dance*
