 Watermelon Manicure

What You Need

  • All In One 3 Way Glaze from essie (base coat)
  • Speed Coat Pro from Ciate (dries super fast)
  • China Glaze – Sneaker
  • HeadSinful Colors – Innocent
  • essie – Blanc
  • Sinful Colors – Black on Black
  • Toothpick
  • Tip guides (Amazon sells these super cheap, Buy here!)

*Note: you can also use thin stripes of clear tape in place of tip guides

1. Apply a base coat to clean nails. I used essie All In One 3 Way Glaze.
2. Apply “Sneaker Head” to all nails.
3. Wait about 30 minutes for this color to dry. This generous amount of time will prevent from the color lifting with the tip guides or scotch tape.
4. Apply the tip guide about 1/4 from the top of your nail.
5. Polish “Blanc” on the top of the nail. Do not apply too thick or the results will appear blotchy.
6. Slowly remove the tip guide right after applying the polish. I was able to reuse the tip guide on the next nail. I do not advise using more than twice.
7. Once all tips are polished white let dry for 20-30 minutes to avoid color lifting. Before moving on to the next step make sure to check the polish to insure that it is dry!
8. This now appears to be a very thick french manicure…that’s perfect.
9. Once dried apply the tip guide right through the middle of the thick white line.
10. Polish with “Innocent”. Slowly remove the tip guide and continue with all nails.
11. Add seeds. Sure, we all love a seedless watermelon, but for nails seeds are a must! To create the seeds apply “black on black” with a toothpick.
12. Give your nails generous drying time before you apply the top coat.
13. Talk about taking the french manicure to the next level!
