BHA skincare products might just be the secret to fighting oil and acne without sacrificing gorgeous skin with a luminous glow. I’ve always been pretty diligent with my skin care routine – I wash my face twice a day and never go to sleep without taking off my makeup. I also exfoliate a couple times a week, own a Clarisonic and have even purchased an at-home microdermabrasion machine. Essentially, I am the ultimate consumer when it comes to the search for the “best” skin care products. I don’t know whether it’s because of our bad winter in New York or just me getting older, but recently I noticed that my skin needed a little boost. I’ve been looking for new ways to brighten up my complexion since. I tried a chemical peel – which was actually an amazing treatment, but something that cannot be done too frequently, as it’s too harsh for routine use. So I was still looking for a day-to-day product that would deliver the same results, without A) breaking the bank or B) causing my face to peel off. Enter Paula’s Choice Resist BHA Exfoliant Set. I had been reading about new ways to exfoliate and get your glow back, and apparently BHAs are what I’ve been missing all along. Paula’s Choice Resist BHA Exoliant Set, $63 BHA stands for Beta Hydroxy Acid. One of the most common forms of BHA is Salicylic acid. BHAs work by penetrating the oil in your pores to get rid of unwanted gunk. BHA skin care products are recommended for anyone with oily or acne-prone skin, because they shrink pores, decrease oil, treat blackheads and white bumps. They are gentle enough to be used by people with sensitive skin, and even those who are struggling with rosacea. BHAs don’t make you photosensitive, so they’re safe to use in the summer, too. They can be drying, however, so make sure to start slow when adding them into your routine to see how they affect your skin and use a moisturizer if you think they might be drying you out. Since I started using these Paula’s Choice BHA skin care products, my skin has been noticeably brighter and dewier with little to no breakouts. I haven’t had to wear face makeup in over 3 weeks, and have been getting compliments from friends and family, asking what I’ve been doing. Both products are easy to apply – with the Daily Pore-Refining Treatment (2% BHA), you just swipe on a cotton pad post-cleanser and pre-serum, and you’re good to go. It only took me 2 days to notice a difference. My favorite is the Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment (4% BHA). I was able to notice a difference after just once use! I don’t know how it works — frankly, I don’t care. All you need to know is it’s not the manual exfoliation most of us are familiar with, as in microbeads. This is just applied to skin, sleep and voila! Regardless of how you slept, you’re looking well-rested and brighter by morning! I’m not alone in making these claims. Check out their reviews for yourself – anyone who has tried this stuff knows what I’m talking about. In other words, getting your glow back just got easier than ever.
