This weekend, skip unhealthy beers and calorie-filled cocktails. Instead, opt for a healthy, delicious drink recipe. We sought out three of our favorite foodie bloggers to get some new takes on some classics. Skinny Grapefruit Margarita By: Wine and Glue Ingredients 1 oz Skinny Triple Sec 1 oz gold tequila juice of half a grapefruit (1/3 cup) juice of half a lime 1/2 cup sparkling water Instructions Combine all ingredients and serve over ice. Watermelon Gin Punch By: Garnish with Lemon Ingredients Fresh watermelon juice: ½ of a personal sized watermelon, cut into chunks Punch: 4 cups fresh watermelon juice 12 springs fresh mint 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 cup simple syrup 2 cups gin Instructions To make the watermelon juice: Add watermelon chunks to blender and blend until liquified. Pour juice through fine meshed sieve to remove solids. To make Punch: Add mint to a tall pitcher and muddle to release the oils. Pour in watermelon juice, simple syrup, lemon juice and gin. Stir to mix. Pour over ice and serve. Notes Keeps in refrigerator for 2-3 days. Skinny Strawberry Lemon Sangria By: Eating Bird Food Ingredients 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered 1 lemon, sliced 1 pink lady apple, cored and thinly sliced 1 750ml bottle of Vinho Verde, Riesling, Chardonnay, or other white wine ½ cup brandy or light rum liquor 2-3 12-oz cans La Croix sparkling water (grapefruit, lime or lemon) ice Instructions Place lemon slices, apple, and strawberries in a large pitcher. Pour in brandy or rum and wine. Mix everything together, cover and refrigerate for about four hours or overnight. Also refrigerate the sparkling water. For individual servings, pour about 4 oz of the sangria mixture into a glass with ice, spoon in a few piece of fruit and then add a splash of sparkling water, to taste.
