Celebrate National Vodka Day With Country Star, Kacey Musgraves Spa Week All Stories, Food & Drink, Wellness If you’re anything like me, you’re excited to know that National Vodka Day is coming up on Sunday, October 4th. Thanks to Zodiac vodka, we got a little inside scoop on how country sensation Kacey Musgraves will be celebrating the upcoming holiday. Scroll down to learn how to make Kacey’s signature ‘Golden Girl’ cocktail, a libation she’ll definitely be sipping this Sunday afternoon. Ingredients: 2 oz. Zodiac Vodka 1 oz. Honey Syrup ¾ oz. Lemon Juice 1 ½ oz. Pineapple Juice 1 dash Angostura Bitters 1 each Lemon Wheel 1 each Pineapple Wedge Method: Combine all ingredients, shake and strain into tall Collins glass. Add ice and garnish with a lemon wheel and pineapple wedge. *To add spice, muddle some fresh ginger and/or jalapeno pieces. For some fizz, add a splash of club soda. ** For the honey syrup combine 4 parts honey to 1 part hot water and stir to incorporate. I know everyone isn’t as much of a mixologist as Kacey, and even though the ‘Golden Girl’ recipe is super easy and delicious, there are times when you don’t have any ingredients on hand or the desire to grab your shaker. That’s why I want to introduce you to my tasty secret weapon, Be Mixed. I am one of those people who has the bare minimum in my fridge. Something as simple as adding a lime wedge to a drink? Forget it. Creating my own healthy cocktails is pretty much out of the question unless it’s a very special occasion. If not, I’m usually stuck throwing vodka into some sugary cranberry juice cocktail and calling it a day. Definitely not healthy. Honestly, not very delicious, but what’s a girl to do? Enter Be Mixed cocktail mixers. These are literally the easiest thing ever. Combine one shot of alochol, ice, and one bottle of Be Mixed and boom! your cocktail is served. And, if you’re thinking there’s probably some unhealthy catch, you’d be very wrong. With no added sugar and zero calories, these mixers still pack a tasty punch without any of the unnecessary nasty ingredients that most quick-fix drinks contain. If these delicious concoctions aren’t perfect for National Vodka Day, I don’t know what is. Cheers! For more delicious recipes check out our Food & Drink section.
