When I walked into Skin Bar, I knew my face would be in good hands because they had a prominent display of SkinCeuticals products for sale. If you know anything about skincare, you know SkinCeuticals is liquid gold so I felt confident that my 4D Face Lift was going to be legit.

After being greeted by a lovely receptionist, I was whisked into a room to have a Fit Skin Analysis so my esthetician, Jessica Bergquist, could see what she was working with. After a few snaps my spots, UV damage, wrinkles, texture, pores, and porphyrins (bacteria that can get lodged in pores and cause acne) were fully analyzed and luckily my scores weren’t too shabby.

From there, Jessica led me to a lovely treatment room where I made myself nice and cozy while I waited for her to return. Once she was back, it was on with the show. The 4D Face Lift starts with diamond photo-abrasion AKA diamond-dermabrasion. This step exfoliates the skin by breaking up dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and then sucks them up and away through a tube. This does wonders for skin’s texture and helps diminish fine lines. The first step also includes LED light therapy which Jessica explained can help with many concerns: “Red light stimulates collagen, blue is used for acne and redness, green helps with hyperpigmentation and melasma, yellow for sun damage, violet for rosacea, and white for healing.” Basically, it’s like having a rainbow wash over you to take all of your skincare woes away.

Step two involves a super serum and Biosnix Ultrasound. “First I’m going to apply corrective serum, Max Stem Cell Serum by Image Skin Care,” Jessica told me as she smoothed it over my skin. “This serum is good for everybody and is has a lot of anti-aging properties including a botox-like effect to help blocks the formation of wrinkles. It is also very rejuvenating and promotes healthy cell regeneration. It’s even good for sensitive skin.” Jessica, you had me at “botox-like effect”. Swoon! From there it was time for the Biosonix Ultrasound with LED light. “The ultrasound increases penetration of product by pushing the product into the deeper layers of the skin, causing it to take effect right away. The LED light is used to treat different skin concerns,” Jessica explained.

For the final step of my 4D Face Lift, Jessica used Myolight Therapy, which she explained was the “lifting and firming” part of the treatment. “We use LED light to stimulate collagen while the microcurrent is used to stimulate the healing process, blood circulation, and lymphatic flow while stimulating the body’s natural current.” I’m not going to lie, this part of the treatment sort of felt like tiny bursts of static electricity on my skin. It was somewhat uncomfortable at first, but it was so mild I actually fell asleep.

What I have yet to mention is that Jessica completed these steps on just one side of my face. Can you tell where this is going? Yep, this treatment comes complete with a before and after reveal and it’s glorious. When Jessica handed me a mirror to show me my newly lifted and firmed face, the skincare junkie in me was both excited and extremely impressed. With many high-tech treatments, it can take weeks or months to see results. This powerhouse of a service gave me results in real time. Happy with my results, I settled back onto the table and let Jessica work her magic on the other half of my face.

Jessica Gives Us the Scoop on the 4D Face Lift

1. Who is a good candidate for this treatment?

This treatment can be done on any skin type. It is good for preventing the aging process and also fighting the aging process. I have clients from age 25-over 60 who enjoy the treatment. My younger clients do the treatment for preventative measures and they see a great response with how their skin looks and feels after the LED light therapy. My middle-age – older clients notice less fine lines/wrinkles, lifting around the eyes, nasal labial folds, and jowl area. Clients who has silicon implants in the area being treated, epilepsy, pacemaker, uncontrolled diabetes, and pregnant clients can not have this treatment.

2. What results should people expect?

Clients can see and feel a result right after the treatment, however the full result of the treatment does not take affect until 2-3 days later. I like to tell people it is almost like your muscles in your face just had a workout, and they keep strengthening a couple of days later.

3. How long do the results last?

The results last about 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark, it is important for clients to come back for another treatment so that they do not lose the result.

4. How often should clients get this done?

Every two weeks for a series of 6. After that, clients should be doing this treatment once a month for a series of about 3-4. Once that is finished, every other month or once every 3 months will help maintain the result. Maintenance is definitely required for this treatment to see a lasting affect.

5. What is the aftercare?

SPF! I always tell my clients to wear their SPF. I also tell them not to exfoliate for 4-5 days post treatment because of the diamond-dermabrasion.
