To lessen the load on your wallet, we’re sharing a few of our favorite natural skincare products that you can make yourself!

Pineapple Coconut Body Scrub

Featuring two powerhouse ingredients, pineapple and coconut, this DIY body scrub does wonders for the skin. Packed with in alpha hydroxy acids, bromelain, and several vitamins, pineapple reduces inflammation, protects against cell damage, and keeps skin flexible and supple. Similarly, coconut’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties work to hydrate, sooth, and soften the skin, while preventing the signs of aging. Use this body scrub twice a month for soft, youthful skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup purred pineapple
  • 1 cup polenta or cornmeal
  • 1 cup shredded dry coconut meal
  • 2 teaspoons organic cold pressed coconut butter

Simply combine all the ingredients and blend well. To use it, massage the scrub all over your body. Leave it on your skin for 5 to 10 minutes, and then rinse. To reap more benefits, try our pineapple smoothie recipe, found here.

Antioxidant Berry Face Mask

Comprised of organic blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, this face mask is teeming with antioxidants and nutrients, including vitamin C, which protects, revitalizing and brightens the skin. Applying it twice a week will leave your face feeling exfoliated, firmer, and more radiant.

Ingredients:

  • 5 blueberries
  • 5 blackberries
  • 5 raspberries

Rinse your berries and combine them in a bowl. Mash them, and use a fork to stir them until they resemble a thick fruit juice. For the best results, leave the face mask on for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Anti-Aging Eye Cream

We are guilty of not getting eight hours of sleep a night, but seriously who has the time? Fortunately this refreshing DIY eye cream keeps us looking well rested. It contains coconut oil, which protects and repairs the skin, as well as vitamin E, a strong antioxidant that promotes healing and defends against premature aging. The final ingredient, frankincense essential oil, helps combat fine lines and wrinkles.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup organic coconut oil
  • 6-8 vitamin E capsules
  • 10 drops frankincense essential oil

Microwave the coconut oil in a small bowl for 15 seconds. Pour the liquefied oil into a small container, where you will store the cream. Poke holes in the vitamin E capsules and squeeze the liquid into the oil, while stirring. Add the frankincense oil and stir to combine. Place your storage containers in the refrigerator for less than an hour, until the liquid returns to solid form. Once solid, the cream does NOT need to be refrigerated. Apply a small dab to your under eye area before bed for younger looking skin.
