“Deep in the Ottawa Valley lies a wilderness oasis where nature and nurture meet. A luxury camping experience where you get back to the elements… by putting you in your element.”

While many of us like the idea of camping, we aren’t too fond of leaving behind the comforts of home. Though we want to escape from our daily stresses and unwind amidst nature’s beauty and wonder, the thought of sleeping on the ground, cooking over a fire, slapping away mosquitos, and the absence of a restroom may not be as appealing.

If this is the case, then you’ll love Nicole Laframboise’s take on camping. The entrepreneur-slash-farm-girl from the Ottawa Valley in Ontario, Canada recently gave camping a glamorous upgrade. Situated on 89 scenic acres in the Ottawa Valley, her Elements Luxury Tented Camp and Nature Spa provides a luxury 5-star camping experience.

“Glampers” can enjoy camping favorites like campfire singalongs, canoeing, hiking and mountain biking, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Other activities include getting a massage, sipping wine, enjoying a caviar picnic by a cascading waterfall, and taking up art and yoga classes at the luxury studio.

And, it wouldn’t quite be glamping without the large, beautifully furnished canvas tents, which are fully stocked with fine linens and eco-friendly toiletries. Not to mention, the private washrooms and changing facilities, chef-designed and prepared meals cooked over your own private fire pit, your own personal wilderness butlers, or the business center for those who need to stay connected.

Laframboise’s camp is located near Renfrew on the property of the former Storyland theme park, which was open from 1966 to 2011. Laframboise purchased the property in 2013 and restored the site to its natural beauty.

The site’s not only famous for being a former theme park; the rock at the highest point of Elements is where explorer Samuel de Champlain presumably carved his name in 1613. The rock is now known as Champlain Lookout, which provides a piece of history and a spectacular view of the Ottawa Valley.
