This week marked the first official day of summer, and we know we are starting to regret those weeks (months) of hibernation in the winter. Luckily, for us, Crunch didn’t take the winter off and has designed a 30-minute bootcamp that focuses on getting your lower half into the best shape possible in the shortest amount of time. Tell us about your background as a fitness instructor? I grew up as a dancer. I started teaching at Crunch 5 years ago. I specialize in free weight conditioning, dance fusions, and am a Master Trainer for POUND Rockout. Workout.

What’s the one thing you always do when planning a class? Make sure I have a great playlist. Also, think about what time slot the class is in. Monday night is a different feel than Friday morning.

Describe the atmosphere? Ideal demographic? All levels? I love teaching multi-level classes. Everyone can work right where they’re at today. Being enthusiastic, focused and willing to go for it are essential to a great class atmosphere.

What is your ultimate health/fitness tip you swear by? It’s actually a quote from an author I like – Danielle LaPorte, “Your body knows before you do.” You have to honor & respect what your body is telling you. Listen and breath into it.

What is your favorite workout move? Curtsy squats. They leave nothing behind. (pictured below).

I always tell people who are intimidated to take my class to? I always introduce myself and give a little intro on what the class will be. Being straight forward and friendly always puts people at ease.

When I’m teaching, I’m most impressed by a student who? Is willing to try, and responsive to the class environment.

When I’m feeling unmotivated to work out I? I remind myself that something is better than nothing. Just start moving.

What are your workout beauty/fashion essentials? The more you sweat, the better the glow after. That being said, I prefer to wear a lot of black and gray. Like a good New Yorker. 😉
