Moisturizing Avocado + Egg White Face Mask

Recipe courtesy of Dr. Karen S. Lee

This effective face mask combines three superfoods— avocado, egg white, and lemon.  Rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, and a variety of vitamins and minerals, avocado hydrates, softens and firms skin, while reducing redness and inflammation. Meanwhile, egg whites shrink pores and tightens and tones, as the lemon juice helps heal and brighten your complexion. When you combine these three ingredients in a face mask, you get a powerful remedy for dry, oily, or acne prone skin.

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 egg white (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine the ingredients and use a whisk to mix well.

How to Use: Evenly apply the face mask to your clean face, avoiding the eyes. Let it dry for about 30 minutes; then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel.

  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Use a wooden spoon to mash the banana in a small bowl. Once smooth, mix in the honey and cinnamon.

How to Use: Apply the mask to your freshly cleaned face. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Wash with a simple facial cleanser or warm water and pat dry with a towel. Store the mask in a sealable container and refrigerate after use.

Revitalizing Greek Yogurt Mask

Recipe courtesy of Lauren Conrad

Beauty icon Lauren Conrad swears by this Greek yogurt face mask. The lactose enzymes in the yogurt act like a cleanser to remove impurities and nourish your face. Though optional, the probiotic helps rejuvenate and brighten your complexion. Together, the ingredients help reduce redness and fight breakouts.

  • 3-4 tablespoons cold, plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 probiotic capsule (optional)

In a small bowl, split open the probiotic capsule and mix it into the Greek yogurt.

How to Use: Use a cotton ball to evenly apply the mask to your face. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel.
