Margaret Atwood is Our Author of the Month!

The Daily’s Book Club is thrilled to present our September Author of the Month: award-winning author Margaret Atwood! Get ready to explore the worlds of Margaret as we celebrate the release of her latest hit novel, The Heart Goes Last.

Margaret Atwood is the author of over forty volumes of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and children’s literature. She is, however, best known for her novels, the first of which came out in 1969; The Edible Woman. Born and raised in Canada, she received her undergraduate degree from Victoria College and her master’s from Radcliffe College, and she has had a varied and exciting career ever since.

Atwood’s work stands out because she toes the line between science fiction and realistic fiction; “speculative fiction” in her own words. The status of women and their roles in society are often the topics of her stories. But Atwood manages to bring these topics into her writing without feeling preachy. Instead, her stories feel real and the struggles of her characters are incredibly relatable to the reader. Atwood’s stories tug at the heartstrings and leave you wanting more.

In anticipation of Atwood’s novel’s September 29th release, we are thrilled to feature The Heart Goes Last as our September Book of the Month. Stay tuned for our review!
