We love finding out which luxury products makeup artists are using on our favorite celebs, but it’s the next-level drugstore makeup they are using instead of their expensive counterparts to complete red carpet looks that really mesmerize us. So, we have rounded up the top products they’re raving about—from miracle instant lashes to beauty balms, here are a few of the best and innovative drugstore finds Hollywood’s top makeup artists swear by.


Patrick Ta is such a fan of drugstore picks that he regularly uses them on his infamous clients, Shay Mitchell, Jessica Alba, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Cara Delevinge, among other A-listers. His go to pick that he simply One of the makeup products Ta says he can’t do without is L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black.

“I die for this mascara,” Patrick told Marie Claire. “I find that a lot of times my client’s lashes don’t stay curled throughout the day, so I often use waterproof mascara to really make the lashes stay in place! The wand on the mascara is great because it really lengthens the lashes and makes them look so full and voluminous, just as its name suggests.”

Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist, Mario Dedivanovic, who seems to take front row on both her app and website, revealed a few of his favorite drugstore brands on social media and proved that he, too loves drugstore makeup just as much as we do.

In fact, in a recent Snapchat, Dedivanovic said that hitting up the drugstore is actually one of his favorite places to pick up great products to use at work, as he showed off a haul from a CVS stop while visiting in Miami, FL.

Among the products Mario picked was a handful of L’Oreal Paris 24 HR Infallible Eyeshadows —which are priced just under $10! In the Snapchat story, Mario said “these are some of the best eye shadows in general,” adding that they are “a really great pigment” and that he uses them on the reg.

Mario is also known to frequently use Ardell false lashes on his clients and stated in his Snapchat that aside from “looking really pretty on the eyes”, the Ardell Natural Demi Wispies could also be “double-stacked for extra drama”­—did he say ‘double-stacked’ peepers? Yes, please.

More recently, Mario and Kim Kardashian did a step-by-step drugstore only look. From the Instagram photo, we eyed some of our own favorites including NYX concealers, Maybelline’s Fit Me! Foundation, a stack of Ardell lashes, and more. The complete tutorial, which is only available on Kim’s official app, shows the Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s reality star, just as flawless as ever. “It’s like Vaseline, but it’s not really Vaseline,” Hung told The Kit. “When people get off the plane with really dry skin, you can put just a little bit all over your face, and it heals. If your face is really red, you put that on and it just cools the skin down right away.”
