Summer is fast approaching! For lean, sexy legs and firm glutes, incorporate these exercise moves into your fitness routine. These exercises require little to no equipment and can be completed at home or the gym. With these moves, you’ll be ready to rock the heck out of those denim shorts come summer!

Donkey Kick


Not only does the donkey kick work out your legs and glutes, but also your lower back and core.

  1. Get on all fours, with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips.
  2. While keeping your right knee bent at a 90 degree angle and squeezing your glutes, flex your right foot toward the ceiling and lift your knee to hip level. Do not arch your back as your raise your leg.
  3. Lower your knee back to the starting position, without touching the floor.
  4. Repeat with the other leg.

Plank Jack

The plank jack raises your heart rate and targets your lower and upper body.

  1. Start in plank position. Your body should be in a straight line, with your feet together and shoulders over your wrists.
  2. Similar to the motion of a jumping jack, jump your legs apart, lightly landing on the toes, and bring them back together.

Dumbbell Step-Ups

This move works out the quadriceps, calves, glutes and hamstrings.

  1. Stand up straight in front of a flat bench or elevated platform, while grasping a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Place your right foot on the platform. Extend your right hip and knee toward the ceiling to step on the platform, while leaving the dumbbells at your sides. Lift up the rest of your body and place your left foot on the platform.
  3. Step down with your left leg, while flexing the hip and knee of your right leg. Return to the starting position.
  4. Repeat with the other leg.

Goblet Squat


The goblet squat targets your quads, calves, glutes, hamstrings and shoulders.

  1. Start in a standing position with your feet wider than shoulder width and toes slightly pointed out. Hold a kettlebell, dumbbell or medicine ball at your chest.
  2. Keeping your back straight and chest and head up, squat down between your legs, until your hamstrings are at your calves.
  3. Pause and use your elbows to push out your knees and return to the starting position.

Performing these exercises regularly will help you tone your legs, glutes and other parts of the body for a sexy summer physique!
