As an editor, I’m privy to the latest and greatest in skin care treatments, spa services and beauty products. So it’s a safe bet to say that I’ve pretty much seen or tried it all. I was around when the Vampire Facial became a trend and I watched as the internet blew up when bedazzling your vagina hit the scene. So I’m not really sure why I am so surprised with the news that celebrities are actually paying a masseuse to bite them.

Celebrities like Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry have apparently paid between $150 and $250 an hour for a back biting massage from from Dorothy Stein. Dorothy, 49, is a masseuse who’s been working with celebrities since the early 1980s. According to Entertainment Tonight, she got her first big bite at 5 years old when she was massaging her mother who requested the bite. Since then, Dorothy goes by Dr Dot – a nickname given to her by musician Frank Zappa.

The benefits of biting someone’s back during a massage include:

  • stimulating better blood circulation
  • reduces stress
  • eases shoulder tension
  • relieves headaches

Whoa! SERIOUSLY? Just when you think you seen or heard it ALL lol! I personally as a Licensed Massage Therapist couldn’t do this! Is this even legal? Or sanitary? 🤔
