Tuesday night after work is the new Thursday Happy Hour. Courtesy of the Meatpacking District Sweat Sessions The Meatpacking Business Improvement District and The Wellth Collective have come together to create the ultimate and convenient workout program for you: Sweat Sessions. The program started on May 9th, and will continue to run through August 29th. Each Tuesday evening a class is held at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Hudson River Park’s 14th Street Park. There are three reasons why Sweat Sessions is a game changer: it’s open to the public, you are able to experience some of the best fitness classes in the city and it’s completely free. All you have to do is pick a class that interests you and sign up here. Courtesy of Meatpacking District Sweat Sessions Past classes have included New York Pilates, The Class by Taryn Toomey, HIIT with Exceed Physical Culture, NW Method, and more. This past Tuesday, the social media team here at Spa Week Media attended the 6 p.m. “Lululemon x Sculpt by Symone’s Cardio Kickboxing.” And as someone who gets bored easily and distracted while working out, my attention was not once diverted away from the class at any point. Perhaps it was the inviting green scenery around me, or the fact that there were people of all athletic abilities gathered together for one purpose. I did not see one face without a smile, which was most likely a result of the incredibly energizing instructor and playlist. The second the class ended, we were already looking forward to next Tuesday (with sweat dripping and all). You’ll be surprised at how much better a 45-minute sweat sesh is than your Thursday Happy Hour plans.
