I envy those people who jump out of bed looking forward to their AM or PM workouts. Sorry, but I would be straight-up lying if I said that was me. I wake up and prefer to either scroll through funny Instagram memes or stare at the ceiling. And when I get home from work, I act as if I haven’t been fed in 5 days, so food is really the only thing on my mind.

Trust me, I want to be that girl who gets as excited to go sweat just as much as I am to watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Like, I really want that. But has it happened? Well, not entirely, but I have noticed a huge difference when I make certain pre-workout smoothies before I hit the gym.

These recipes are tasty, easy to make and will give you that extra pep in your step you may (desperately) need.

Pre-Workout Green Smoothie

  • 2 cups almond milk unsweetened
  • 1 apple
  • 1 banana
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
