I don’t know about you, but I sit at my desk for about 7 hours a day. Sure, I get up to use the restroom or get lunch. But sometimes I bring my own lunch from home, which cancels out the 30 minutes or so of walking outside. So how do I defeat the antsy feeling at always being at my desk? Quick desk exercises! Yes, you can work out at your desk. And no, they are not these elaborate, embarrassing exercises your mind is envisioning right now. Ahead are simple exercises that will get your brain back in the groove if you’ve hit a block, and get your energy level higher so you don’t have to reach for that third cup of coffee. Toe Raises Courtesy of Weight Watchers You can do this exercise sitting down. It’s done exactly as it sounds: instead of flexing and pointing your feet, flex and point your toes. Shoulder Blade Squeezes You can do this standing up or sitting down. This is great for your posture and to stretch your back muscles if needed. Stationary Crunches Courtesy of Cheat Sheet You know how you flex/tighten your stomach when you’re showing your stomach while taking a photo? Yes – do that exact motion for three sets at 10 seconds each. Bicep Curls Courtesy of AZ Central Bring a light pair of weights (or heavy, you do you!) to work. You can do as many or little reps as you want. And no, you don’t have to stand up to do curls – if you sit at your desk, it’d be just like sitting on the bench at the gym. Toned arms, for the win. Glute Squeeze Courtesy of the Berry Get your butt into shape for the new year! This is easy and plus, no one will even know your “squeezing” an exercise in. Sorry guys, couldn’t help throwing in a pun. These are just some simple but great exercise moves to do at the gym.
