It’s starting to get cold out in the morning, and when you’re running late with no time to blow dry, the last thing you want is to step outside with a wet head of hair. But you also don’t want to be going out in public with oily or flat hair either. So what do you do? The answer is actually pretty simple: dry shampoo. Dry shampoo is a quick and easy alternative to washing your hair, seeping up unwanted oils and getting your hair back its usual post-wash volume and gleam. We put together a list of the best dry shampoos so you can keep your head warm and your hair looking clean, voluminous, and beautiful as we head into winter! Lush Cosmetics No Drought dry shampoo $7.95 – $14.95 When the cold has you dreaming of sunny beaches and tropical drinks, No Drought is the answer. A combo of lemon, grapefruit, and lime oils leaves you craving a margarita and leave your hair fresh looking. It even helps volumize your hair, giving it that just-showered look without having to get it wet. And unlike a lot of powder-based dry shampoos, it doesn’t leave dark hair looking dull and gray! Blow Pro Faux Dry $20.00 The cold and dry weather can leave your hair looking limp in between washes. But Blow’s Faux Dry specializes in transforming your lackluster tresses into luscious locks. With a protein blend that gives hair strength and volume to rival just-washed hair, a quick spread of Faux Dry through your roots is just the answer if you’re on the go. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo for Brunettes $22.00 Drybar does a lot of things amazingly, so when we heard they had a dry shampoo, we jumped at the chance to try it. The Detox smells like a dream – sandalwood, jasmine, and vanilla help make sure your hair doesn’t have an ‘unwashed’ odor. This dry shampoo is specially designed for brunettes (though their website features other options) by including mineral pigments that help blend with hair color and removes the threat of leaving any white residue behind. Style Edit Invisible Dry Shampoo $20.00 The checklist for Style Edit’s Invisible Dry Shampoo is everything you could want: cleans, volumizes, and deodorizes. But that’s not all! Style Edit went above and beyond with their damage repair technology. The shampoo actually mimics hair’s own keratin for targeted repair of breakage and split ends that continues to work over time. Talk about a powerhouse! Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk $20.00 Klorane boasts a reputation of “pure botanical care” which extends to their dry shampoo. With no parabens, silicones, sulfates or sodium chloride, this is a healthy way for your hair to get an extra boost without a shower. One of its major bonuses is the addition of oat milk to its formula, which helps soften, protect, and moisturize your hair even without water. Healthy and moisturizing? Who can ask for more! Davines Hair Refresher $28.50 Marketed as a hair refresher rather than a dry shampoo, Davines’ Hair Refresher does the trick just as wonderfully. A dry cleansing mist that packs an amazing fragrance (yuzu and lemon, hello!), it also uses sinodor molecules. These molecules, a derivative of all natural citronella oil, helps capture and neutralize that funky hair smell. A great pick-me-up in between shampooing, since it absorbs excess oils on the scalp, and boasts a carbon-neutral footprint! To see more of our favorite products, head to our Beauty page!
