CONGRATULATIONS! You made it through the first month of 2018! No matter what happened this month, that is definitely something to celebrate. January can be an overwhelming month for so many of us. The new year begins and there’s a lot of pressure to make resolutions and come up with new and exciting goals.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re all for making goals. Goals can help you achieve things that seem impossible at first. They can make you feel great about yourself and what you’re able to accomplish. But they can also leave you feeling down in the dumps if one month in, you think you’re failing.

So, if you haven’t done everything you set out to do in January 2018, relax. Take a deep breath and pour yourself a glass of wine. Then, reevaluate those goals you started the year with.

We’re all human and sometimes we set ourselves up to fail. If you started the year saying you were going to get a workout in every day this year and you only went to the gym once a month last year, it may be time to reevaluate. The point of that goal was to get in shape, right? So why not adjust it a bit– instead of going to the gym every single day, try going once or twice a week. Sign up for a fitness class with friends– they’ll help hold you accountable and you might find a hobby that you really love.

Change takes time. So if you haven’t achieved everything you had in mind a month ago, relax. We promise– it’s not the end of the world. There are other ways to achieve your goals in more realistic ways. Don’t give up, you’ve got this! Don’t forget to let us know what your new goals are in the comments.
