One of the best ways to get perfect summer skin is to exfoliate. But starting an exfoliation routine can be tricky, and one of the most common skincare problems estheticians see is over-exfoliation. That’s why we’re rounding up some of our favorite products for sensitive skin– for your face, your body, and your lips.

A few reminders: if you have sensitive skin, make sure you test these products (and all products) in a small area before you use them. Start by exfoliating once or twice a week– don’t overdo it. Try using one new product at a time, so that if you have a reaction, you’ll know exactly what’s causing it.

Paula’s Choice Skin Revealing Body Lotion 10% AHA $28

The gentlest way to exfoliate your body is with a lotion that includes an exfoliant, like the 10% AHA in this formula. Paula’s Choice’s lotion gently removes dead skin everywhere, making room for softer, hydrated skin this summer. After switching our daily moisturizer to Paula’s Choice, we noticed smoother skin– and all of our white and red bumps were gone!

Tatcha Rice Enzyme Powder Soothing for Sensitive Skin $65

Tatcha makes an enzyme powder specifically for soothing sensitive skin, and there’s no question that this product does its job. This creamy foam gently buffs dead skin and uses a non-abrasive formula to deeply cleanse pores. The Natural Japanese Indigo calms and soothes sensitive skin, so you can say goodbye to redness! This is our favorite exfoliant for everyday use.

If you’re looking for one skincare set to exfoliate your body and face, this is it. The mineral peel body is a cult favorite for prepping your skin for a tan (whether it’s real or not) and a close shave. After using this peel, our legs felt smooth and soft and we were ready to show them off on the beach. The mineral peel face achieves the same gentle exfoliation as the body formula, while also brightening skin. The set comes with their oxygen cleanser as well, the perfect way to prep and cleanse your skin.

This cleanser is the only product on this list that you can use everyday– in fact, we recommend it. PigmentClar is a brightening cleanser, designed to exfoliate the most sensitive skin types. After a few days of using this cleanser, our skin looked brighter and had a subtle, natural glow. This is definitely the perfect cleanser to use all summer long.

La Roche-Posay Ultra Fine Scrub $17.99

For days when you need a little more exfoliation than the cleanser offers, we recommend this ultra fine scrub from La Roche-Posay. This scrub can be used 2 to 3 times a week, after your regular cleanser. Tiny pumice particles remove excess skin and exfoliate, while thermal water soothes and purifies your skin.

Angelia Caglia Dream Exfoliant Mask $140

angela-caglia

This chemical exfoilant is the perfect mask for sensitive skin. The product is easy to use and instantly reduced our pores and brightened our skin. After you apply the mask, wait 1-5 minutes before rinsing off. We recommend testing this mask on a small area of your skin first, and then using it on your entire face for just one minute. If you’re looking for deeper exfoliation, build your way up to 5 minutes.

Kari Gran describes their lip scrub as a “mini spa treatment just for lips” and we couldn’t agree more! This sugar chamomile scrub exfoliates dead skin off of your lips to leave them soft, smooth, and perfectly kissable. Follow with your favorite tinted lip whip fold a bold look.
