Here at Spa Week, we’re eagerly awaiting a new addition! Our Director of Corporate Gifting is expecting a baby next month! We know that mom-to-be skincare can be a struggle for many pregnant ladies and we wanted to use this opportunity to find out what works best. Breanna tried and reviewed these products throughout her pregnancy. Here’s what she thought: BASQ NYC Cucumber Tea Eye Gel $24 Being pregnant for the first time, I had no idea how my brain would shift from “I can use any products at any time” to “let me Google that and see if it’s safe for the baby and safe for me too”. Well, I am now that person, so when I came across the basq NYC brand and saw that it was safe for pregnancy & nursing, I thought “Score!” I’m not going to lie – I’m a tough connoisseur especially when it comes to eye creams and gels and I’ve probably tried a minimum of twenty different products over the years. The Cucumber Tea Eye Gel actually does what it says – revives tired, puffy eyes. Who would have thought – a product that actually lives up to its’ expectations?! I’ve been using it nightly for about a month and have had no complaints of waking up with puffy eyes; I actually think it’s one of the best eye gels I have used. I’m pretty sure once my baby is here, I will be using it in the morning as well because you know, sleepless nights…. Basq NYC Cooling Body Bliss $20 Eucalyptus, Lavender and Green Tea, oh my! So cooling body bliss, huh? I thought to myself, how can this actually cool me down? After a long commute home, I sat on the couch and applied the gel in an upward motion to my legs, ankles and feet. My first thought…it smelled AMAZING! Not only did it provide immediate relief when I applied it, but the eucalyptus cleared my sinuses. Now let’s get into the whole “cooling” side of this product. Pregnant or not, I am always HOT. Pregnancy in the summer…well that’s on a whole different level. I was literally shocked that the product not only cooled me down, but my legs were actually, cold! It was great to put on before bed and to be able to fall asleep without heat radiating off of me…I’ll take a cooling wonder any day. Mama Mio The Tummy Rub Butter $36 When I first started telling friends and family that I was pregnant, this was the first product everyone recommended. I picked it up right away and fell in love! This rub smells and feels gorgeous on my skin and has helped fight stretch marks as my tummy grows and grows. It’s full of powerhouse ingredients like shea butter and coconut, avocado, sasha inchi, olive, rosehip, argan, and sweet almond oils. If there’s a must-have product for pregnancy, it’s got to be this one! Mama Mio The Tummy Rub Scrub $23 Exfoliating in hard when you’re pregnant, since you never want to use products that are too harsh or rough on your sensitive skin. Mama Mio’s gentle exfoliator uses tiny particles to buff away rough and flaky surface skin cells, revealing oh-so-soft skin. Adding this product as the step before my Tummy Rub Butter has left my skin feeling so soft and so smooth, the perfect combination for this mama to be! Mama Mio The Tummy Rub Oil $38 The third product in Mama Mio’s Tummy Rub line does not disappoint. After using the Tummy Rub Butter, I didn’t think this oil could live up to my expectations – but this oil did the trick! It’s super hydrating and filled with all of those good ingredients that make The Tummy Rub line so effective. Mamas everywhere can’t get enough of this stuff, and I’m one of them!
